About The Challenge

Entries open Fri 22nd of November, 2024.

Event is Saturday 5th of April, 2025.

Tas Bike Collective Cycle Challenge is about having fun, challenging yourself, all while raising money for a great cause.  You can enter as an individual or in team of up to 6 people, to attempt as many laps as you can over 3 hours.

Entry is simple and affordable at a flat rate of $20 per rider across all entry types and ages. This keeps our event affordable and a fun day out for everyone!

The event is being held on private property at the Baskerville Raceway in southern Tas, offering a fully enclosed course, that is spectator and beginner rider friendly. And in 2025 we are offering some new options!

  • A full on-road course option - yep, if you want the full Baskerville course in all its tarmac glory it's there for the taking.
  • The off-road course - this is still an option for those who would rather the bumps, twists and turns of the dirt. You will need to choose your adventure (on-road or off-road) during the entry process and individual members of a team will be able to choose different courses!
  • Team riding options - because it’s a challenge not a race we’ve decided that you and your team can ride together as much as you like. Ride in a relay, ride all together or mix it up!
  • E-bikes are now allowed - after trialling the event last year we are confident either course can be safe and inclusive for E-bikes.

All funds raised in 2025 will go towards launching our mobile workshop, so we can reach more kids across more locations.

To help you get a handle on what the event is all about and plan for the day, we have put together the following information for competitors.

Fundraising

The Tasmanian Bike Collective works hard to try and ensure students who are not thriving in traditional education are not being left behind.

Every team or individual who enters will automatically be given a fundraising page and be supported to raise much needed funds for the Tasmanian Bike Collective. We ask that you share this page with your networks to help support young people making positive changes to their lives through our programs.

Using the medium of bikes, the TasBC establish local workshops to support young people dealing with a wide range of challenges. In particular, the aim is to help those who may be struggling in conventional learning environments to rebuild confidence, take on challenges, recognise the skills they do have and develop new ones.

Every day in our programs we see increased resilience, growth in communication, improvements in work readiness and capacity to focus. The Bike Collective also helps young people work towards earning their own bikes and get out riding more.

Everything raised through the event will get spent locally in Tasmania, supporting young people through our programs. This year our fundraising is going towards our mobile workshop roll out, so we can reach more students across more areas.

If you want to jump on board and be part of this event or support a rider who is fundraising, visit our Fundraising Portal or About Page to learn more.
